Star Search, Meeting Larry The Cable Guy For The 1st Time & His Fathers Reaction To The Movie “Delta Farce” – PJ Walsh on Stubbs In The Morning

by PJ Walsh on May 3, 2010

I’ve known Keith Stubbs host of Stubbs In The Morning on 101.5FM The Eagle for over 10 years. I love his Wiseguys comedy clubs & always enjoy talking with him. He’s a really solid guy & great comedian. In classic PJ form right up front in this interview I get the address wrong of where I was born? I was brought into this world at The Jewish Memorial Hospital at 196 & Broadway (really Dyckman St. & River Rd in Inwood, NYC) but I couldn’t get that right. I think I said the subway stop of a girl I know instead? I love when I screw up in interviews. Being interviewed is not exactly simple. You are under a microscope & honestly who really finds themselves that interesting? When I did Star Search years ago. I was really nervous, very self conscious & had never done an interview of that magnitude before. They asked me about my parents immigrating here from Ireland. I told them they came through Ellis “Freakin” Island! They’d only be over a 100 years old. I remember saying to myself… “did I just say that?” It’s on tape somewhere. Being a comedian I can screw up even my own history! I don’t think anyone is really holding PJ Walsh up to a ultra high standard. I keep that in mind when watching people on TV being interviewed. Also to be the interviewer. I have been on that side of it a bunch as well. Not at all easy. Keith is great. Watch how he fill’s in the blanks that people might be unaware of in my stories. He is really on point.
