ASAP – What’s Next? Fundraising Campaign

I’ve been blessed by the benefits of friendships. This is way I’m such a believer in the ASAP programs.

We’ve all asked ourselves “what’s next?” when we come face-to-face with difficult decisions, uncertainty, or major transitions in our lives. And no matter what the situation is, our response has the capacity to affect our identity, our sense of purpose, and our ability to grow and thrive. From now until Sunday, November 11th (Veterans Day), we’ll be running our #WhatsNext fundraising campaign and asking you to consider investing in what’s next for our community. As we’ve witnessed the difficulties faced by veterans, service members, and military family members in transitions to and from service, we’ve also seen the impact of providing veterans and their families an outlet to determine what’s next through the arts. What’s next is learning new skills that translate to all elements of life. What’s next is deriving purpose by writing, honing, and sharing your stories with others. And what’s next is finding a community to which you truly belong. But what’s next is only possible with your help.

Every gift you give throughout our #WhatsNext Campaign will be matched on a one-to-one basis up to $10,000 – that means the impact of your donation will be doubled! Each contribution will help us get one step closer to our goal of raising $25,000 through Veterans Day, helping to support over 300 veterans and military families through our classes and workshops in 2019. If you’re ready to help veterans, service members, and military family members define what’s next through community and creativity, please visit our campaign page and consider donating at give.classy.org/WhatsNext.

Adventure T.E.A.M. Challenge 2018

I cannot express how life enhancing Adventure TEAM Challenge by World T.E.A.M. Sports has been for me. My TEAMmates become life mates. I have so much love, respect, and care for all the competitors, volunteers, and organizers…

What takes place during ATC is so beautiful, I wish it could be bottled up and spread around the world. People from all degrees of life coming together, working in unison, developing a blood-sweat-and-laughter bond.

The Misfits 2018

I learned a while ago that I’d rather be inspired than impressed. There is inspiration in every ATC turn. It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life… and I’ve done a lot of cool sh*t!

TEAMwork

Thank you everyone who helped make ATC 2018 happen. Without your donations, this magic wouldn’t take place, so make sure you watch the video below. The TEAM crossing the finish line in the video had a wheelchair athlete and a visually impaired athlete on their team. Hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, climbing, rappelling… these are all just one more obstacle they overcame together as a TEAM – with inspiration at every turn!

I NEED YOUR HELP: Adventure TEAM Challenge 2018

The Exceptional Athlete Matters! I want to invite you to be a part of one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Adventure TEAM Challenge is an intimate and powerful event that I have been a part of for the past three years. Put together by World TEAM Sports, the racecourse is grueling and beautiful and life changing…but it’s nothing compared to the grit of the competitors.

TEAM RED (USMC) 2016 ATC WINNERS

Each Adventure TEAM is made up of five individuals. Three are able bodied, two are disabled, and one of the two must be in a wheelchair. Disabled doesn’t belong anywhere in the description of these athletes. They come from all corners of the country with so many different and compelling stories, and the one quality all of them share is their ability.

Donations can be made here:  HELP ATC 2018

Before this experience, I hadn’t spent much time with anyone who might be considered disabled. It took just one Adventure TEAM Challenge weekend to change my view on the power of the human spirit. As exhausted, beaten and cut up as my body was, my mind and heart were being bombarded with inspiration, laughter and new friendships. This is the MOST POWERFUL EVENT NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD ABOUT and I need YOUR help making this magic continue to happen.

Please check out this video of last years event and consider making a donation – your generosity will go to an amazing event!

This is my first time ever fundraising for something I am passionate about, and that’s where you come in. This is strictly an effort to create a impactful and life-changing experience for others, both adaptive and able-bodied. I truly appreciate your help by donating, sharing ATC posts and helping me/us spread awareness about this life changing event. Thank you, PJ
